Candle Care & Safety
Your Dolomites Glow candle is crafted by hand — slowly, deliberately, one at a time. A little care in return gives it a cleaner burn, a longer life, and a better scent from the first light to the last. These are the steps worth knowing.
Before You Light
- Trim the wick to 5mm (¼ inch) before every use — this keeps the flame even and prevents smoking.
- Burn for no more than 1–4 hours in a single session. Longer burns can overheat the vessel and shorten the candle’s life.
- Keep the wax pool clear — remove wick trimmings, spent matches, and any debris before lighting.
- Avoid drafts — keep away from open vents, ceiling fans, and moving air. An unsteady flame burns unevenly.
- Watch the flame — if it burns too high, smokes, or flickers persistently, extinguish immediately and allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.
- Stable surface only — always place on a flat, heat-resistant surface and keep the candle upright throughout the burn.
- Clear the surroundings — keep well away from curtains, paper, fabric, and any other flammable materials.
- Never leave unattended — do not leave a burning candle unsupervised, even briefly.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets at all times.
