Find Us at the Ortisei Christmas Market 2026

For a few years now, every time someone asked whether we'd do a Christmas market, we said "maybe next year." This year we finally said yes. From 28 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, Dolomites Glow will have its own wooden hut at Nadel Urtijëi, the Christmas market in Ortisei. It's our first market ever. We're a little nervous and very excited.

If you've been to Ortisei in December, you know the picture. Wooden huts along the pedestrian street, lights strung between the old houses, mulled wine somewhere close by, and the Sassolungo keeping an eye on all of it from above. Being part of that with candles we poured ourselves, a short drive from our studio, still feels a bit unreal.

What you'll find at our hut

We're bringing the whole range, not only the Christmas pieces. Our Ceramic Pot Candles in their hand-cast vessels, decorative candles dressed with dried botanicals, glass jar candles, and of course the Christmas collection: the little trees, the stars, the ones that only come out once a year.

The ceramic pots are what we're proudest of. Each one starts as liquid clay poured into a mould, dries for two days, then gets sanded and sealed by hand before any wax goes in. That's hard to get across in a product photo. At the market you can simply pick one up and feel it.

Smell them before you choose

This is the part we've been looking forward to most. You can't smell a candle through a screen, and choosing a scent from a description is a bit of a guessing game. At the hut, all three are open to try: Floral, Vanilla, and Freesia & Pear. Go back and forth as many times as you like. We won't rush you.

Wrapped and ready to give

Buying a present? Just tell us. We'll wrap it right there in our Dolomites Glow packaging, so it goes straight from the hut into your bag, and from there under the tree.

Planning a wedding or a baptism?

A lot of what we make during the year are favours for weddings, baptisms and family celebrations, in both wax and ceramic. If you have something coming up in 2027, the market is a good chance to see the pieces up close and talk it through with us face to face. Bring your date, your colours, your half-formed ideas. Already spotted a candle in the shop that you'd like to take home? Write to us at info@dolomites-glow.it with the product and the day you're planning to visit, and we'll keep it at the hut for you. It's worth doing for the one-off pieces in particular. Once those are gone, they're gone.

The practical bits

• Where: Nadel Urtijëi, the Ortisei Christmas market, along the pedestrian area in the village centre (Val Gardena, South Tyrol).

• Opening hours: they change through the season, with afternoons on weekdays and longer days at weekends and over the holidays. The organisers keep the full timetable on the official Nadel Urtijëi website.

Dolomites Glow started with a simple wish: to take the light on these mountains at dusk and put it into something you can keep on a table at home. Spending December in a small wooden hut in Ortisei, handing those candles to people who came to see the same peaks, feels like the right way to end our year. Come and say hello.
